Mandarin:

As its name suggests, the mandarin orange originated in China. Mandarins were indeed the rulers of China and Manchuria. Larger than its cousin the Clementine, it is also paler and its fragrant notes are softer and sweeter. While its peel – or zest – is used in perfumery and aromatherapy, its leaves are also used after steam distillation.

Mandarin holds a queen's place in the history of perfumery. It holds this choice position for many reasons, the first of which is its use in the first truly celebrated eau de toilette in the West: colognes. But the love story between mandarin and modern perfumery continues to this day. This is probably because it is known to stimulate the creativity of those who breathe it in! Thus, we find the freshness of mandarin associated with aromatic plants such as basil, but also associated with amber, all woody notes or jasmine. Yuzu:

Yuzu is also called Japanese lemon. It is a small tree from the same botanical family as the clementine... but its fragrance, properties and uses are very different! Today, it is mainly cultivated in Japan or Korea, which are also very frequently used in gastronomy. The juice of its fruits and their yellow or green peel, depending on the ripening and harvest, give off a very powerful and immediately recognizable aroma. If the fragrance is precious, the flesh of this fruit is very rare, especially since it contains a very large number of small seeds.

Like many citrus fruits, Yuzu has been cold-pressed or distilled for its fragrance and characteristic acidity. Many perfume houses use it in compositions that are both masculine and feminine. It brings elegance and spice to the great classics of the "Hesperide" family. Because it was discovered later than the citrus fruits traditionally used in the West, it is associated with an incomparable touch of modernity.
